Today, you get to hear all about my business. Best part about having my own blog and running a shop local feature is I can feature myself.
I love doing creative things, I always have. I started making jewelry last year because my best gals and I were chatting about affordable cute pieces that we would love to have but couldn’t find anywhere. My business truly is Farm Wife Style because it’s everything I love and would wear myself.
I started out with necklaces and then branched off into bracelets when I saw a few pieces I loved and wanted to try making. My most recent additions are earrings that have been incredibly good sellers. They’re sparkly and classic, the feedback on them has been wonderful and they’re only $25 a pair.
I’ll be approaching one year of business this coming January and in February my pieces are being featured in the 2016 GRAMMY Award gift bags and the 2016 “Everybody Wins at the Oscars” gift bags as well. There’s a press release coming out soon to share the low down so stay tuned. I’ve only been at this for one year but am so pleased and proud to say I’ve built it all myself. It’s a big deal to get your work in the hands of celebrities and I am so excited to see what 2016 will bring for me and my little company.
The life I live is one of privilege. By that I don’t mean I have a chauffeur or personal chef and all my bills are always paid on time. What I mean is I’m blessed to be able to stay home with my daughters, contribute to our family by running my business as well as driving a tractor when I need to and live a life of simple happiness that together, the Farmer and I have worked hard for and earned.
One of my favourite quotes comes from John Lennon, “What do you want to be when you grow up? Happy.” And I’m achieving that. Set your mind to whatever it is you want to do and do it. The harder I work, the luckier I get and I send my gratitude to all my readers, followers and customers for the support; you’ve brought me to this place I’m at today and I could not be more thankful.
Think outside the big box stores and #shoplocal this holiday season. When you support local businesses like mine and all the others featured in #25days of #shoplocal, you help us feed our families and continue to create and innovate and there’s nothing a crafter loves more than the support and encouragement of customers to keep doing their thing.
All the best this holiday season and for 2016, with gratitude, Kim.
