#shoplocal Day 10, One More Day

Today’s #shoplocal feature is one that hits close to home for me and for a lot of other friends and family.

One More Day is a colab campaign initiative between Modern Fort and Arrow House.  Modern Fort is a Vancouver based team of female entrepreneurs that features one company or campaign each month that’s been making a huge difference in their community.  They bring awareness to the campaign and as a token of appreciation, funds from the sales of products that month go towards the cause.  Arrow House is an award-winning interior design firm located on the west coast that merges solid and timeless design with a well-balanced lifestyle.

One More Day all came about when Kelly Schmidt, owner of Arrow House, was diagnosed with cancer for the second time.  Her and her brother, Darren Pedersen (who is also a cancer survivor) began the campaign last year and teamed up with Joanne Ma of Modern Fort to create something incredibly special for so many families battling cancer.

OneMoreDayTo quote their website, “Cancer sucks. Everyone knows it. It’s not pretty. Our goal for this campaign isn’t to make it go away. There are many organizations out there doing great things to raise money for research and state of the art equipment that will truly help transform the way cancer patients are being treated. But that’s not us. We’re taking a more personal approach. When going through cancer, the individual is beaten. Physically, mentally, emotional, and spiritually. Sometimes the last thing you want to hear is more money going to research as you feel it won’t help you right now, right this second when you’re feeling incredibly low. So, our goal is to help change that a little bit. At least try and put a smile back with a little love.

This year’s new designs are on super-soft, eco-friendly and sustainable fabrics. You will love the look and feel of these shirts. Partial proceeds from each of these shirts will help build funds to execute random acts of kindness to families currently battling cancer in their lives. Nomination forms will be available early next week and you’ll be able to fill them out right on our site. Know someone who’s fighting for “One More Day” and is truly deserving of a pick me up? Nominate them and let us know what we can do to help put a smile on their face.

Go shopping and get some One More Day apparel, it’s a beautiful cause and you never know when you’ll be wishing for just one more day.

A NOTE TO MY READERS: I want to reiterate that every one of these shops and artists have been selected by me to participate in my #shoplocal campaign.  I am receiving NO GRATUITIES OR FREEBIES for these shout outs and want to keep it that way!  I love all these places and what they offer and am sharing them to make my readers lives easier and promote local shopping in my area.
