#shoplocal Day 5, Bashaw Sports

Bashaw Sports is a wonderful little shop in a small town close to my heart.  It’s about an hour and a half south of Edmonton but offers so much in small town atmosphere and hospitality that it’s a sure visit if you have an outdoorsman/woman on your list.

At Bashaw Sports, it’s all about shooters serving shooters.  Quoted from their website, “For nearly 30 years, this small, independently-owned sporting goods store has been quietly but steadily gaining a solid reputation based on excellent customer service and fair prices.”

Located right on the historic main street of Bashaw, Alberta, BashawMainbetween the drug store and the hotel, Robert “Pud” Stevenson has been the owner and operator since he opened the doors in 1984.  Always the sportsman, the shop focuses on hunting, fishing, competitive shooting and even gunsmithing.

I spent all my summers growing up in the Bashaw area and it was something that I have always treasured.  The Farmer and I have carried on that tradition with our kids and Bashaw Sports is, hands down, his fave gun shop to visit.  He is always talking about their selection, prices and service and recommends a visit to all his pals; there’s not a trip we make to the area where he doesn’t stop to see what’s new.  With brands like Benelli, BROWNING, Beretta, Remington, Mossberg, Ruger, Sako, Savage, Weatherby and Winchester, I would doubt you wouldn’t find what you’re looking for.  They even sell used firearms if a lower price range is what you’re looking to get into, just check their Specials page for stock and pricing.

If there’s someone on your list that would love to see what they have in store, take a day trip and give them a visit.  There’s also a great ice cream shop, butcher and bakery in town and, in my opinion, you cannot beat that small town feel.

They’re open Tuesday to Friday, 9:00 to 5:30pm and Saturdays from 9:00 to 5:00, closed Sundays, Mondays and all stat holidays.

A NOTE TO MY READERS: I want to reiterate that every one of these shops and artists have been selected by me to participate in my #shoplocal campaign.  I am receiving NO GRATUITIES OR FREEBIES for these shout outs and want to keep it that way!  I love all these places and what they offer and am sharing them to make my readers lives easier and promote local shopping in my area!
